Applicious Apple Clafouti

Clafouti is a french baked dessert which is typically made by baking fresh fruits
(traditionally cherries) and a batter ; halfway between a cake and a pudding in a baking dish. We love to eat apples and it is harvest time for apples now and I bought some delicious sweet gala apples yesterday.
So I changed the old recipe and substitute the cherries for apples and made this apple clafouti. It tasted delicious and we love it .....hope that you would too......

Apple Clafouti
Ingredients:
6 oz cake flour
1 tsp baking powder
pinch of salt
4 oz sugar
3 large eggs
4 oz butter
3/4 cup milk
4 medium size Gala apples - peeled and cored and cut into thin slices
2 tbsps lemon juice
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2  tsp vanilla extract

Method :
Preheat the oven to 400F.
Peel  and core all the apples and cut them into thin slices. Mix in the lemon juice to prevent them from turning brown.Add the ground cinnamon into the sliced apples too. Arrange them overlapping on a round glass pie dish.Beat the eggs and sugar together in a large bowl. Then add the milk and mix well. Add the flour mixture to the batter and stir till combined. Pour the batter over the apples and bake at a preheated oven  for about 35 -40 minutes in the middle of the oven till golden brown.
Let it cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes  before dusting some confectionery sugar on top.
Serve the clafouti warm with a dollop of whipped cream or vanilla ice-cream.
